Your duplicate and near-duplicate smiles are returning, like cockroaches.

:angel4: x2 as angel4 and angel9, plus seven more other angels: :angel5: :angel2: :angel1::angel12: :angel10: :angel8: :angel7:

Do we really need bouncing smileys in all these colors?

:blob8: :blob7::blob6::blob5: AFAIK, none of these have ever been used.

Three puking smileys? :pukeleft: :sign11: :puke:

Sunglasses a'plenty: 8) :glasses8: :glasses7: :glasses2: (and as mentioned earlier, that first is on there three times)

Be honest, can you remember anyone ever using any of these:

:cya: :toothy5::angry6::evil5::confused4::sign5::offthea ir::happy2::rabbit::toothy4::angry5::flower::sad3: :smilebox: :spiderman: :nike: :confused3: :fucyc: :laughing8: :tongue4: :occasion8::hippy2: :cheese: :rr: :happy3::sunny: :confused5: :tongue2: :laughing6: :laughing7: :fish: :shake: :happy5: :alien: :cherry: :toothy8: :homework: :toothy9: :hal :shaking: :hmph: :tard: :compress: :usa2: :happy10: :computer: :cyclops: :cyclopsani: :brave: :glasses9: :sleepy4: :sad1: :violent3::toothy1: :sad2: :faroah:

The ever-charming ;pottytrain; :pottytrain2:. God, I hate that one.

Maybe the worst animated gif ever assembled by man: :laughing2: That's supposed to be 'laughing'

Why a windows logo??? :sign1: The win logo hasn't even looked like that since 2000.

Really... pleasepleaseplease cut the smiley list. And cut deep. A good 80% of the current ones are terrible, and not fitting a forum that should value attractive visual design. The list is also a nightmare to navigate. There are literally 280 smileys on the list. It was be truly, truly awesome if there were no more than 50. Or even 40. We really just need the ones that look good and connote a mood or tone of voice to 'color' a comment, you know? Like how,

Wow, really? :shock:
Wow, really? :roll:, and
Wow, really? :|

...are totally different statements, but there's really no need for anyone to ever bust out a pop-eyed cyclops ( :cyclopsani: ) or a swiss-cheese smile ( :cheese: ), you know? So having ones like that there just clutter up the menu and make the board harder to use.

Thanks for your consideration.

I would totally volunteer to help cull them. *raises hand*

*seconds the plea/beg/grovel*

Gah. It's really hard to do as there's a limit to how many show on a page, you can only delete one at a time, and they're not in alphabetical order. Um. hmn. Wonder if there's a way that I can delete all but the very basics, and then add in some fun ones later on rather than a whole damn package.

Well this much took me over an hour. I'll be back to do more later.

Oooooh, thank you thank you thank you!!! :D 8) :D

ETA: I also kind of wondered about the 'uninstall all of them' option. I wonder if it's possible to assemble your own smiley pack for installation- save off the ones you know you like, make a smile pack, then uninstall all others and install just your pack. Might be worth looking into....

Right now I have no time to do that. ... I have no time to do this really either but hey.

I just did a few more.

Want me (or Twistie?) to look into how to package it? Since this one specific thing is so super-important to me, I sort of feel like I should be volunteering the time..... :?

If you want to figure it out, that would be fantastic. If not I can keep on just deleting them when I see them, but that will take a while. They also move around after you delete them, and not just moving up a space either. It's so frustrating!

Bump for Twistie. Your computer skills >>> mine, and I'm coming up dry on my search.

Not going to delete this one, because it's a really popular one on another forum I'm on... I know that doesn't mean it's going to be popular here too, but I quite like it.

Sorry for not seeing this earlier. Had a 12 hour plane delay in Chicago.

What exactly do I have to do? Deleting? Or just picking them out. (And do we know how I would do this?)

Seems like T is most familiar/comfortable with installing smileys in "packs". We need to build a good smiley pack so she can delete all existing smileys, and just install that pack.

And as such, someone's gotta figure out how to build a smiley pack into whatever format that vBulletin 3.8.1 requires.

chh, I installed one giant pack and that was it. Years back. I have no idea what I'm doing!
