I want to call an AI computer "Austen" but I want to base that name on something... I was thinking maybe that it was called OZ10, but they called it Austen as a nickname? But what would OZ10 stand for?

It could be the tenth version of the OZ computer. OZ could stand for Operation Zelda - the original prototype could have been developed for military purposes, and the military often uses arbitrary names like that. Or it could have been created in Australia and was very similar to something made in another country, so they called it Oz to show off where it was built.

Or it was geek-humour :) Or just a nice product-name. Have you heard some of the names for processors? =)
Never mind processors, think of IBM's supercomputers, like Deep Blue and Deep Thought!
Austen's a great name :)

Open Zone ten. 'Open Zone' could be what they called the hardware architecture standard or something.
Order Zulu, machine number 10 (zulu being "z" in the phoenetic alphabet and the last letter of the alphabet- so you've got the tenth copy of the final version (order) of the design. So somewhere down the road you might run into OX01 (order xray, number one), etc.
OZ could be the designer's initials. Orrin Zane, Oleg Zychkowski, etc. And ten would be the tenth version he designed.

Great way to confuse the suits :)
Also if someone hears them talking about oslo and tries to search, they'll just come up with oslo and not OZ10 :o

Nu uh - computer has to be called "Austin" ;)
OZ10 is fabulous Tundra!!! Could stand for "Operationz 10" - as in it's the tenth Operations system computer (the language has mutated that they use "z" instead of "s"???
