To the Inaugural NIH "Get Something Done" Weekend!

So, you have lots of projects, and no motivation? Would it motivate you if other people were trying to get something done at the same time as you? This is why this coming weekend (From Thursday night midnight to midnight Monday, in your own timezone) is NiH "Get Something Done" weekend. This may be a novel you are working on, a short story, your blog, a poem, a song, a script, filming, a piece of art, a plan for a piece of writing, art or whatever, miniatures, even things like "Christmas shopping", or "more exercise" or " read such and such a book".

How it works: this weekend, we're all going to try to get something done. Not finished, but just worked on. Can be as many projects/activities as you want. And if possible, tell NiH about it, as you do it or after you do it. It could be really interesting to see your progress over the weekend. If you need help, people should be around to help you out- this is a big part of the 'event', that if you need help in getting something done, we're here to support you or to help you.

It's sort of like a mini Nanowrimo, but not necessarily for novels. Doesn't require you to work 24/7, just to give it a shot.

I know it's almost Christmas, but I've noticed that if you don't do something just before christmas, it won't be done until almost the end of January.

Good Luck! :D

Great idea. I have to get laundry done. (Okay, okay. I know I'm obsessed with doing my laundry.) I love it, it's like a rush when I smell the scent of clean clothes. I'll probably wallow in my clean clothes, just to inhale the scent. Anyway, I have to do laundry and I want to finish the book I'm reading, and write more of my chapter. And also, wash my clothes.

Brilliant idea! I'm gonna start a novel, and work on another novel, and work on yet ANOTHER novel, and actually edit some more of Emp's novel (I keep forgetting ;__;!), and possibly even tidy my room, although then I won't know where to find anything. Atm if I need something I know it's on my bedroom floor. *grin*

Sounds like fun. I can work on my stories and maybe even clean my room. Maybe. =0p

I'll work on planning out one of my stories. The five-hour car trip on Friday ought to give me some time for that. (Darn you, college, being all far away from home!)

I'm going to finish writing all my exams and go to a Christmas party at a family friend's house! (And she is--or was--a caterer, so that means there will be much good food, including various h'or d'ouvres wrapped in BACON!)

....I must study for exams. But it's a very good idea nonetheless.

Ah, what a good idea. I will take the chance to sew all the bags for Christmas presents. This year I decided I would sew cloth bags to put all gifts in, as I am physically incapable of wrapping things neatly with less than a roll of tape. I've got two done so far, but there's a bunch more that still need making.

I'm going to try to work on my various writings and some christmas presents and tidying. So you can bet i'll have lots of posts soon, asking for help! (encouraging people to do that, because if it gets you unstuck, it'll get you back into work faster!)

Woo, less than an hour until GSDW!

It's still a while until GSDW for me. It's only 12:49 PM on Thursday for me. A whole day to go yet. I guess that's what comes of living on the opposite side of the world.

It's only half-six Thursday evening here, but as it happens I'm working all weekend, while I'm off today, so I thought I'd get a head-start. *grin*

My project is going quite well so far. A vast of the majority of the material should be very easy to convert and there doesn't seem to be much of anything that will have to be completely removed.

Update: So well in fact that the preliminary checks are now complete. Now all that remains is to actually go through and convert it all... but first, more caffine!

What I mostly got done today was nothing. But I only just got back from work. ;__; I will get onto doing something now!

I've actually posted the prologue to my NiHGSDW project in the writing-critiquing forum. *gulp* So if anyone wants to see what I've been up to it's there.
