OEDILF provides standards and guidelines.
Join in, don't just sit on the sidelines.
Good rhymes, jokes, and meter?
Your limerick's much sweeter!
Please note: It's bad form to elide lines.
The Omnificent English Dictionary In Limerick Form (http://www.oedilf.com/db/Lim.php)
This site is a black hole for time.
"Our goal is to write at least one limerick for each meaning of each and every word in the English language. Our best limericks will clearly define their words in a humorous or interesting way, although some may provide more entertainment than definition, or vice versa."

In a line where emotion is strong.
If you think that your writing
Is made more exciting
With "!!!!!", you're wrong.

Now, anchors are things meant for boats,
Designed to constrain where one floats.
But they also appear
On a web page; it's here

If you're plotting a curve or a line,
Although axes with blades
Seem more practical aids

The blades of your axes
Are the very last things that the hack sees.
---
Good analogies get to the core of
Relations you're mostly unsure of,
Since it's far less demanding
To gain understanding
When they're mapped to ideas you know more of.
---

A hunter who shall remain nameless
Didn't plan far ahead; he was aimless.
When his aimlessness spread
To his shooting, instead
Of bagging a stag, he was gameless.
