Can I do it on a Mac? Or do I have to get some other sort of program?

I think they might have produced a version for Macs, but my Mac-using friend had to go with Admium, which sucked, but was compatible with Live Messenger, so I could chat with her over it. There are some others, but I can't remember the names! If there's a Mac version though, it should be under a Mac heading on the MSN website.

No. Get Adium (http://www.adiumx.com/) now. It's awesome, it supports multiple protocols and its dock icon is a duck (you can change that, but the duck is really cute).

I don't WANT that. I want Windows Live. Period. I don't want a proxy version, if I did I could have downloaded Adium or Pidgin or something but I wanted Windows Live. I don't need something that supports multiple protocol and it's much more trouble than it's worth to have more than I need. Trust me, I've had Pidgin in the past and I liked it alright but I prefer my Windows Live.

Has it actually improved over the godawful MSN of ages past? >.> I don't trust Microsoft to ever actually improve on anything. Certainly not since the new Office came out. Actually making things better seems to be against company policy.
