Watched Topics

Regarding the ability of the Watched Topics I have a question. Is there a way for your account to not automatically default to watching a topic each time you post in it? As I have found where I will occasionally enter a thread and post once, and not come back to it but that it will be listed as part of my watched topics list. Now I know that you can click on the 'notify me when a reply is posted' icon to stop this when you post or go to your Watched Topics section and check the topics you do not want to watch anymore from there. What I was wondering though if there was a way to make it so that the default was to not watch the topics and then when you did want to watch one you just checked the box then.

um. That's really odd. I obviously post a lot, and it hasn't automatically made my threads i posted in 'watched'. So apparently there is a way. I just don't know what that way is.

Ahhhh.

I think because I had automatically notify me of a reply checked in my profile it meant that topics would be automatically considered Watched Topics.

If you click on Profile and scroll down to the Preferences section you'll see an "Always notify me of replies" option, which you can set to no. Is that what you're looking for?

Yeah, I mentioned that in my last post, but looking over it again even I could not understand what I meant. ;)

I have that set to no in my profile, and I'm still getting emails. :( So weird.

No not anymore, the help provided here fixed the problem, plus alerted me to my own stupidity. :D
