Birthdays Appear/Disappear

Why do the birthdays sometimes appear, and then disappear? Just now before I signed on I saw that it was someone's birthday (can't remember who, alas) and now when I look, nothing is listed there.

EDIT: The birthdays are there when I am not logged in, however, as soon as I log in, they disappear. Strange.

Odd... I've never had that happen to me. I'm always logged in though, but they're there all the time as far as I can tell.

Yes, that's the one. I first noticed this a while ago, when it was Shrekpleb's birthday. I thought something like, "Well, I'll catch up on threads, then wish her a happy one."

But after catching up, I checked the front page to see how old she was, and her name wasn't there. My thought: "Oh, I guess it really wasn't her birthday, and someone corrected that."

I noticed it appearing once, with Maulden's birthday. But I assumed that he'd forgot to put it in his profile so added it late.
