Something Exciting - NiH marketplace

Something hopefully at least mildly exciting, will be coming to NiH soon. :) Watch out for it!

Okay that came up much faster than I was expecting. :D

You may have noticed that in the menu bar, there now is 'shop'.
Click it.
You'll see a few Amazon widgets- the blue ones are creative help things that NiHers recommend. The black ones are fun things that we recommend- our favourite books, movies, tv shows, music, etc.


Underneath that will be links to things that NiHers (or their families/friends, in some situations) are selling. It must be things for sale, not just links to our stuff/other sites.

When we have our calendars and anthologies etc, that'll also go into the shop.
We get a surprisingly large number of guests, so this could be very cool.


If you've got something for sale, post the link to it here, and a short explanation/title, and I'll get it put up.
Please remember that if you don't want your real life name connected to your username, to be careful. Thanks!

I think I have adblockers on right now, I'm on a 'new' computer, swapped from the laptop, FINALLY, so I can't see anything at all lol. but yesterday, I couldn't see the UK recommendations one either.
And yep the horses thing was mainly just a test. I'm still waiting for nihers to recommend some creative things.

^ no, I'm not advertising other people's sites, sorry. For the recommendations, they MUST be books, dvds etc, stuff that you like to read, not a site that you like. Since it's a shop. Not a list of recommended sites.
But if you are selling anything, or have a friend who is selling something, (not a site that sells things in general, it *must* be somehow connected to a NiH member) I'd like to know about it. But that's not a 'recommendation' that's a link.

So, to summarise: I want lists of favourite books, dvds, shows, cds, etc, that NiHers *love*. Ie, your absolute favourite ones. That'll go on the Amazon widget.

I also am putting up links to NiHers stuff for sale.

P.S. If you'd like to recommend places like Threadless, that'd just go in the Recommendations and Links section.

Yep. BUT you CAN switch it off just for those specific Amazon ads.

Correct :)

Go to the shop page, and then click the Adblock Plus logo, it will display a little window that shows all the "Blockable Items on current page"

Scroll through the list until you see an address that is blocked (it's red instead of black or green). Right click on anything from Amazon.com and go "Add Exception Rule for this Item", then press "OK".

You might have to do it a few times, but there's no easier way :P

(I don't think I've seen Sulis since the summer... was I on one of my offline stints when we found out if something happened to her, or did we ever?)

Anyhow, here's a book I wrote after taking a 2650 mile hike along the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada.
Could appeal to those who like an outdoor adventure yarn and a look at the US and its wilderness areas through the eyes of a New Zealander!
