I've never been able to read NiH threads without logging in, which is I gather how the site operates. And that's fine.

But most of the time when I log in, I notice down at the bottom that it gives numbers for who is currently on--right now it says "10 Members and 5 Guests."

How do the guests read anything? Can they read anything? I can't, as stated, unless I log in. Or are these guests like errant birds, futiley pecking away at a closed living room window, wondering why they cannot enter and partake of the various splendors to be had?

I'm just curious.

They can read the management / suggestions area I think.

They can indeed read anything in the Official Business section. And I suspect that a lot of guests don't read much. It probably has the same system for counting guests that it does for members, which, I believe, is that anybody active in the last twenty minutes is counted as such.
