Here are some links that were on the old NIH.
They could still be useful!

For Architecture junkies. I took a course in AutoCAD in college, had a blast with the program. Unfortunately, it's ungodly expensive. Last night, I found an easy-to-use freeware CAD program that'll handle 2D drawings, with layers, which is more than adequate for my basic needs right now. I was up until 4 am last night playing with this. Very easy to use. It has its own quirks, but generaly a simple program.

Great for maps for gaming, fiddling around with house design (I can't be the only one who designs houses when I'm bored. Am I?), and just general fooling-around with blueprint-style drawing.
