BBCentral just gave me some of the stats for NIH! I am simply amazed. - that's me.

I see some of you (don't know who) linked me to their LJs. Thanks a lot for that! Whoever they were, they got us the most hits! (in the HUNDREDS from LJS!)

And get this!! When people search for "The Mighty Boosh" or "Lano and Woodley"... this forum comes up! That's SO COOL!! (okay, so it's not even in the first 30 pages, but still. 51 times apparently, someone searching Boosh has found this link. And 7 times for Lano and Woodley)

Still no evidence that it comes up when people type in something about writing or art though, which is slightly disappointing. But i suppose it would be so far down the list anyway, that people wouldn't have seen it.

In August - 261,660 hits

In September - 367,714 hits

October- 382,553 hits

About 3500 visitors each month

That's an average of about 100 unique visitors each day!

"Since you moved to my server you've had just over a million hits

And about 9000 visitors"

Are you amazed? I'm amazed.

:O that IS amazing. Very very cool. And if it's coming up in searches for boosh and lano and woodley then we should get a steady stream of quality people :D

I'll confess to being one of the people who linked NIH on their LiveJournal. But that's also how I get here so at least a few of those linkages is from me (I use my LJ as a starting point for a lot of my surfing, actually).

vindemiatrix
October 30th, 2005, 10:53 PM
I linked it from my LJ too, but nobody visits my LJ apart from possibly Elski and Aquamonet. Still, wow. We're popular! *grin*

Tundra

I'm pretty sure it was a combination of LJs. :D Nice work.

Nice going, they are some good solid statistics there.

Hmm I might have to make use of the links in the LJ options one of these days. :)

More Stats! For this month- wednesdays are our biggest days. (weird)
December 8th was our most popular day this month!

Um... now THIS is disturbing... here are our search keywords for this month.

notebookinhand 4 33.3 %
notebookinhand.com 2 16.6 %
natureofhumanity 1 8.3 %
notebookinhand forum 1 8.3 %
hand notebook 1 8.3 %
nude sketching 1 8.3 %
comurshals 1 8.3 %
nude people wed 1 8.3 %

hahaha... i'm not sure which is more disturbing, that two people clicked on NiH looking for nude art and nude weddings, or, that someone spelt 'commercials' as 'comurshals' and found *US* with that!!
No lano and woodley or boosh searches this month lol.

These statistics are great. I wonder if natureofhumanity knows of their fame.

highlight search words from last month (in my opinion!)
One person clicked on NiH looking for "Naboo's Miracle Wax" and another one for "I am the Moon Boosh" :D Two Mighty Boosh terms!

Strange. I may be wrong about this, but I think that there was very little posting at that time, despite the fact that there were 14 people online. :?

Sulis
May 20th, 2006, 12:13 PM
 I couldn't be online then due to stupid cable company having service issues. Everyone in the city with my ISP lost cable and broadband service. I live in INDIANAPOLIS! The city's large enough that widespread outages like that should not happen that easily. I missed it!

Tundra
June 1st, 2006, 08:58 PM
awww... well, it's not as if it were planned and deliberate. So, hopefully it can happen another time!
Once, I tried to make a day where everyone would try and get on nih for as long as possible, to see if we could beat the record... didn't work.

Ariella
June 9th, 2006, 12:58 PM
WE BEAT THE RECORD.

On June 5th, 33 people were online at once!

Tundra
June 9th, 2006, 01:21 PM
Did anyone take a screenshot? If it was mainly guests, it was probably a glitch.

Dammit, i would have loved a screenshot!!! :( why didnt anyone think of that then???

vindemiatrix
June 9th, 2006, 07:29 PM
Do we even have 33 regulars?

Tundra
June 9th, 2006, 10:44 PM
Not really no. So, that's why i think that unless someone actually SAW 33 members online, then, it'd be a glitch to do with guests. that happens sometimes.

Elski
June 10th, 2006, 07:56 AM
It's weird to think we have almost three hundred members, but there aren't enough of them active that we're willing to belive 33 could have been online at once.

Maulden
June 10th, 2006, 08:13 AM
I also find it a little strange that only 12 of those have more than 1,000 posts... >_>

Tundra
June 10th, 2006, 12:22 PM
^ that's an improvement on what it was.
Actually, our numbers aren't bad at all, for a forum. Most forums have this sort of participation rate.

pkgirl
June 10th, 2006, 08:02 PM
yeh i agree, a lot o forums that i have visited... NOT being a member, have only a few members regularly active.

Tundra
June 10th, 2006, 08:06 PM
hmn. I checked. We do have over 33 people who COULD be online all at once. But, i just doubt that they all were the other day that's all. There could have been a lot of people online, and then glitchy guests as well.
I'd love to be able to PLAN everyone trying to be on at once. I tried that once. Didn't work.

Elski
June 11th, 2006, 12:05 PM
Did you? Why didn't it work?

Tundra
June 11th, 2006, 12:28 PM
this was ages ago, but, since everyone is in different timezones, i made it so that it was a 'try to be logged into the forums for as long as possible on such and such a day'. They'd come online, see that no one else was online, and leave again, not realising that everyone was doing that, and if they'd just stay, then other people wouldn't do that...

Elski
June 11th, 2006, 12:41 PM
Ah, I see. I think if you had to do it you'd have to sort it out by timezones... ie people in whatever have to be on form such-and-such to such-and-such, people in this other zone have ot be on form such-and-such to such-and-such, etc, etc.

Tundra
June 11th, 2006, 12:43 PM
but, people will be like 'oh sorry, i'm busy that day' or they'll forget or whatever. It's really really hard to actually organise.

Elski
June 12th, 2006, 04:20 AM
True enough... oh, well. It's a nice idea.

Tundra
June 15th, 2006, 06:29 PM
I'd like to try it another time. But it'll need us to be organised, and people to 'commit'. Ie, if they possibly can, stay online and on the forum (not even necessarily looking at it) for as long as possible, rather than just going 'oh it's not going that well, it doesn't matter if i leave'. Like, if they really can't do it for whatever reason, t hat's a different matter lol.
anyway i won't be planning that until exam times are over.

Elski
June 19th, 2006, 09:53 AM

Tundra

I've picked up my posting pace recently. Partially because I finally got over my 'what will they think if I say something stupid?' worries. On NiH? They'd say, oh look, another post just like all the others... ^_^ That's why we have so much fun. And partially beause, well, there's more to reply to these days. Mostly I blame Maulden for that.

Still, it's taken me a year to get this far. My pace hasn't picked up *that* much...

Treasure Hunt Birthday

The referring source is mainly direct. So, if anyone wants to post a link to NiH somewhere, that'd be cool. :) No need to beg for new members though, since we want quality members not ones who are here just to help you out, or who only make one post then never come back. But since it's not Nanowrimo anymore, a little bit of advertising wouldn't be too bad, if you want to. This isn't an advertising campaign, just something that you are now no longer requested not to do. :)
