Hi everyone,

I just wanted to provide a link to this site as a resource for the members here:

http://www.shadowedrealm.com/

Shadowed Realm is a site dedicated to gathering and publishing information related to the Middle Ages and to providing a forum for the discussion of all medieval-related topics. It contains articles, a glossary with hundreds of terms, a timeline, maps, and more.

Constructive criticism and suggestions are definitely welcome. :)

Nice looking site there, easy on the eyes, well written (as in no visible spelling errors :D ) and a good format.

Will possibly join up later as me likes medieval stuff. :)

Chipping in with one of my favourite resources. Everyone, use the Medieval Names Archive (http://www.s-gabriel.org/names/) to the fullest extent possible, because it seriously rocks the casbah. :D

Question: Would you mind if we started up conversations on your forum about medieval society, to twist for fantasy novels?

There's nothing wrong with discussing medieval society on a medieval forum, so of course. :)

^ yes, but for fantasy... so talking about real medieval society, and then twisting it for Fantasy needs...

Anyway, it looks really good!

I think that would be great. If enough of these sorts of discussions started up or if they didn't really fit into the other forum categories, I could always create a new forum (I did something similar for people who like to build models of siege equipment when I started up the Medieval Workshop forum).

Anyway, it looks really good!
Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

I'm finishing my semester on Medieval Europe on Thursday. I'm quite sad about that because I've always loved medieval history. So your site might be a good alternative! I'm no expert though, i just have a bunch of random facts and ideas.

Out of curiousity, what's your major?

I think you'd enjoy it. :)

We have members with a wide variety of different knowledge levels and backgrounds. I think we learn quite a bit from each other, but at the same time we definitely try to have some fun with it.

History Major, but because i'm doing International Studies and Arts, i do a lot of politics as well as history. But i'm no expert in that either.
