I'm sure most of you here know that I'm a major Maid Marian and Her Merry Men fan. Well, heres the forum for it.

if any of you are even slightly fans, it'd be great if you'd join! Or if you plan on watching it one day, you can join up now if you want to.
The show's on dvd now, well, three series of it!
It's a show written by Tony Robinson (ie, Baldrick from Blackadder), about the 'true story' of the Robin Hood legend, ie, that Marian did all the work, and Robin got the credit throughout history because history is chauvinistic. It's full of historical anachronisms, political, cultural and pop references, innuendoes and so on. It's like 'shrek' in that it's designed for pretty much all ages. It's also a musical!
Robin is a airheaded, (though, in general he's fairly sweet...) shallow, gullible, metrosexual/yuppie tailor, obsessed with his hair and clothes. Girls follow him around screaming pretty much. then there's Rabies, a strong tall idiot, Little Ron, a violent midget, and Barrington, a rastafarian, played by Danny John Jules, aka Cat from Red Dwarf. Tony Robinson plays the Sheriff, and hes' flanked by Gary and Graeme, two guards, who both have 'GSCEs in killing, maiming, and chewing people's heads off' but are just so sweet and camp and they're 'bestest mates'. I love how you can feel sorry for the baddies. There's also King John, Guy of Gisbourne (who has the mind of a four year old yet is 27) and Rose Scargill, Marian's ex best friend, and some very very stupid villagers.
The comedy is a mix between Blackadder, Red Dwarf, and something else.

I realise I go on about it a lot, I just thought I'd put it out there again.
