Invariably, history is written by the victors; rewritten by the scholars; interpreted and re-interpreted by generations of descendants. Sometimes, new facts are uncovered. Celebrated. Welcomed by the students of history.
Sometimes, new facts are uncovered. Feared. Repressed by those who are afraid of the truth. Pushed so far into the past that it is inevitable that the truth should be forgotten...
This world is currently set in only 2 of the 3 Realms of the Blood, and the timeframe is approximately 20,000 years before the events in The Invisible Ring. By this time, the war between the Realms has already come and gone, and contact between Terreille and Kaeleer is limited.
The stories of the High Lord of Hell, the Demon Prince, the last Witch, and their connected families have all faded into obscurity and myth.
And a note, we have altered the world just slightly, so more males have worn the Black.
