Wow.... But with the friendly tone of the volunteer (who didn't sound in the least wary) I'd suspect this is pretty much par for the course, regarding this kitty. He's probably feral, and possibly hurt, and wants to scare these big, scary people away...

Looks like my cat when you give him a bath. Also like the cat of these poeple I babysit who basically follows you around all night doing that.

He's probably pissed because he's a cat use to having th avast outdoors to roam in and now he's stuck in a tiny cage with people staring at him.
