I don't know how easy this would be to implement, or if anyone would use it but I thought I would throw the idea forward.
With all the events that are happening here, such as the Book Club, occasional member drive, notification of peoples birthdays and the event yet to come of NANO, which I know a number of people are interested in, I was thinking it may be a good idea to implement a calendar.
That way people could access it to see what events were happening for that month, and instead of sending out mass emails to everyone, a note could just be added to te calendar. I am not against the emails by the way, but thought that it may save effort and time in the long run. However I do know that not everyone would check the calendar often and may miss out on events that were posted in it, so that is one down point.
I unfortunately am not internet savy enough to incorporate one into the forum, but if I could once a week update the details and add events into the calendar if you like and if it does not require a vast knowledge of coding. I have done it once before, but that was a few years ago now.
Any events could be sent to me via an email or PM and if it was something that needed to be added urgently simply by putting the word URGENT! or GET YOUR BUTT INTO ACTION BUCKO! would hasten me to add it that night when i got home from work.
Let me know what you think.
