I need the names of the cheapest, nastiest brands of vodka, and the most expensive, that you can think of. I don't drink, so Ihave no personal input on this one.

I'm looking for the cheapest possible, and "Oh my god" spectacular, for a comparison.

There's some Taiwanese Vodka called "bing huo", I haven't tried it, I'm just throwing the name out there 'cause I can't remember any other brand names...

The results of Google, Wiki and personal experience:

Good vodka: Grey Goose, Chopin, Belvedere. I played with Google, and apparently grain-based vodkas tend to be better in general.
Bad vodka: Store-brand. Or go to an off-license/liquor store and find the cheapest possible (my parents' strategy for buying vodka, and since I'm the only one that drinks it then I'm the one that suffers. Bastards). But yeah, it's guaranteed to be pretty nasty. As is anything in a plastic bottle with no label.

Basically, if you can drink it straight and it doesn't kill you, it's good. Smirnoff, for example, is fine mixed but neat? It's vile on toast. Go figure. Also? While Googling, I found out that you can apparently make bad vodka into better vodka by using a Brita filter. I have no idea if this is helpful to you, but I want badly to test that one out...

Cheap nasty vodka: Gordon's. You can get a 750ml for about $7, and I've tasted cooking vodkas that were better. Fleischmann's is about equally awful.

Really good 'connisseur' vodkas: Grey Goose, Belvedere, Armadale, Chopin, and Jewel of Russia. All go for between $30 and $40 for a 750ml bottle.

Grey Goose is absolutely the best. It's French.

if you want to write about vodka, go out and drink some vodka. Ask about what you're drinking, and what's the best, the worst, the cheapest and the most likely to destroy your liver in the shortest time possible.

The biggest problem with that theory is the fact that I LOATHE the taste of alcohol, and have yet to find any that I can manage to choke down more than a sip. At least I no longer spit it out, though!

i unfortunately, am an able drinker. I can put down shots and drinks relatively easily. This unfortunately leaves me vulnerable to drinking more than i should :P but meh, my funeral.
