If you're using Internet Explorer, go to the toolbar and click "tools", "Internet Options", and then press "Delete Cookies". If you're on anything else, I don't know. :(

and it'll mean that any passwords you have 'saved' as in 'log in automatically with each visit' you'll have to retype them in.

argh I don't understand...it says I'm logged in but then I can't check my messages or do any normal stuff. It works fine on the other computer but not this one. And I need this one.

For Firefox, it's "Tools", then "Options" Then "privacy", then the cookies tab, and punch "clear cookies"... It sounds pretty complex, but really, it's not too bad.

A slightly faster way (in Firefox 1.5), is to click "Tools" and then "Clear Private Data."
At least, that's how it works in the Windows version. If you're running a Mac, the user interface is slightly different... :?

Woo, I live again. But alas I can't change my password back to a rememberable one now cause the profile page (and the registration page) say ya gotta put in a valid birthday and I can't find a spot to do such a thing.

The profile page is fixed now, so you should be able to update your profiles. I downloaded, installed and activated this template on in 5 minutes, never bothered to check if everything was still working though.
As far as the cookies, you don't have to clear all your cookies. It's much much simpler to do that, but if you don't want to clear the cookies for other websites, you can delete only the cookies for NIH.
If you are using Firefox, then:
1) Click Tools, then Options
2) Click the Privacy Tab
3) Click the Cookies sub-Tab
4) Click the 'View Cookies' button
5) A window will open with a text box that says 'Search'.
6) In the box, type 'notebookinhand'.
7) The list underneath will narrow down and only show you the cookies for NIH. Select all of them (could be 1, could be 3, could be 10. Select all of them)
8) Press the Remove Cookies button
9) Close the window, and go back to www.notebookinhand.com. When you click a link you should be logged out.
If you are using Internet Explorer, it's a little more complex:
1) Click Tools, then Internet Options
2) In the General Tab, in the Temporary Internet Files box, click 'Settings'
3) Click 'View Files'
4) A folder will open with all your temporary files in it.
5) What you need to do is find the NIH cookies. Order the files by Name (right click to do this).
6) Scroll through the list until you find the files that begin with 'c'. There should be a whole bunch with the same icon, usually a text file.
7) The files you want to look at all start with 'Cookie:yourname@nameofsite'. 'yourname' is the name of the person you are logged onto your computer as, and 'nameofsite' is the address of the site the cookie is for.
8) Look for 'Cookie:yourname@notebookinhand.com'. There might be more than one. Select them and delete them.
9) Reopen NIH and try again :)
I hope this is straight forward enough. It will save you from losing all your saved cookies for other sites.
Good luck!

I tried doing what you suggested for Internet Explorer, but I couldn't find the right files...so I just deleted all them cookies. Anyway, I don't save passwords on any other site.
(yes, I'm trying to look at the bright side...where's the sun?)
