Can anyone tell me more exact times (as in years--months would be nice, if you know them,) and locations for the fourth pandemic of cholera? I know it was in Europe and Africa, mostly. Would there have been pocket outbreaks in the cities (such as Paris) during that time (I'm using mid-to-late 1800s in this story--1873 to be exact) which could have eventually been contained and not turned into a widespread problem?
I mean, if the Prussians had invaded in the early 1870s...and the third pandemic was mostly in Russia between 1852 and 1860--could the Prussians have brought it in? I know Prussians and Russians are different--but aren't they close?
Would there be individual cases of cholera occuring outside of the pandemics, is my main question?
