Those Little Egg Things

I notice a few of you have got those little egg things in your signatures. If you MUST have them, if you have more than one, please please, put them next to each other not below each other in your signature. I really don't like having banners in signatures, and these eggs can have the same effect on the eyes and scrolling. They're quite cute, but please, only in moderation! thanks.

I dislike them, personally, but hey! It's taste! I agree with you -- as long as people only have a couple and they're next to each other, and there's no other bloody colourful crap in there, I have no problem.

Some members had little egg things... that 'hatch' after a month, into a surprise 'animal' thing. They're brightly coloured things that are in their signatures.

I tend to have a strong dislike of all "blinkies" (thanks bnabbt ;)), but those aren't so horrible in comparison. Still, I like clean message boards, too.

check out the rules. It's been there since the start actually, i didn't just add it then or something. I dislike big colourful signatures. Text is fine. But bars of colour are really distracting and i've always thought that. If it's a count down to something really really soon, then that's alright, i'll let that go. Birthdays or something... i really would prefer you not using them. Just... use your own common sense about how big is too big. I mean, i like people being able to express themselves in their signatures. But really big things are really annoying.
The egg things are okay, as long as they're not under each other, and as long as you don't have too many of them.

They don't really count down, they're not automatic. Which is what i suppose the tickers are for. But the problem with tickers is- they're HUGE!! And often really gaudy! For me, it jolts me out of concentration when I'm reading through threads.

But then, I don't know how ban-happy it's proper to be. If I ran the boards I'd desperately want to ban the use of more than, say, three exclamation marks in a row, but that doesn't mean they SHOULD be banned. *grin*

I can put up with quite a lot. But I've always had a 'no banners in sig lines' rule. The egg things are fine in moderation. The tickers are fine if they're temporary, (ie, not counting down 364 days to your next birthday) and the smallest ones you can get, preferably. Banners are right out.

I hope my sig has caused no one problems... I will not make it any more gaudy than the egg/critter... and if I don't like the critter, I'll either get another egg or delete the critter :lol: .

Well, I'm just going to leave mine as it is unless you ask me to get rid of something Tundra. I haven't updated my word count in a while, but I'm planning a huge makeover for it.
